About Martin Wells
On leaving Ravensbourne Art College in the late 1970s Martin began as a portrait artist on Fleet Street with political illustrations in the national press. In the 1990s, alongside a successful career in commercial art, he was taught Renaissance painting techniques by Dr David Cranswick, a specialist in traditional art materials. In 2014, Martin was commissioned to paint HH Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan, a leading member of the United Arab Emirates royal family.
